Meet Sylvia Bolos

Sylvia Bolos is the founder and principal attorney of Bolos Consumer Law. She founded the firm because identity theft victims deserve an attorney who understands both the legal and financial systems involved in their cases.

Before law school, Sylvia worked in banking and held financial roles with the U.S. Department of Defense, including positions as an accountant and program analyst. She holds an accounting degree from Oakland University in addition to her law degree from Wayne State University Law School. That background means she doesn't just know the statutes that protect consumers. She knows how banks investigate fraud claims, how credit files get built and corrected, and exactly where those systems break down and let identity thieves succeed. Clients get an attorney who has worked inside the system, not just against it. Opposing counsel gets an attorney who cannot be told a fraud investigation was handled properly when the file says otherwise.

Sylvia co-founded Insight LLC, a consulting firm that trains and coaches consumer protection attorneys across the country. She speaks nationally on consumer protection issues and stays active in the field through the National Association of Consumer Advocates and the Federal Bar Association for the Eastern District of Michigan, where she has chaired a committee.

Identity theft is disorienting, and it often hits at the worst possible time. Sylvia's goal is to give clients a clear path forward and a lawyer who will fight for them without hesitation.
