Identity theft rarely shows up as a single problem. It often starts with one fraudulent account or an unfamiliar bill, then spreads into damaged credit, denied loans, and financial stress that can take months or years to fully unwind. Bolos Consumer Law helps consumers put a stop to the damage and hold the responsible companies accountable.

Know Your Rights
The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) gives consumers the right to dispute inaccurate information on their credit reports, including reporting connected to identity theft. After a consumer submits a dispute, credit bureaus and companies that furnish information may have obligations under federal law to investigate and respond.
When a company ignores the dispute, keeps reporting fraudulent debt as legitimate, or continues collection efforts on an account a consumer never opened, that company may be violating the law.
How Bolos Consumer Law Can Help
Bolos Consumer Law works to identify accounts, debts, and reporting errors connected to a case of identity theft, then pursues appropriate corrections and legal options to address the resulting harm.
Our firm's background in banking and financial systems makes it possible to see how identity thieves exploit those systems, and where credit bureaus, lenders, and collectors fall short in fixing the damage.
Keep copies of your credit reports, dispute letters, investigation results, Identity Theft Reports, police reports when applicable, correspondence with creditors or furnishers, and any denial or adverse-action notices.
Did you tell the credit bureau or company that the account wasn’t yours—and it still wasn’t fixed?
If identity theft has affected a credit report, a bank account, or an employment or housing opportunity, help may be available. Contact Bolos Consumer Law for a free case review.
